Crochet Alien Evolution

I'm not super sure why I started doing this alien. But here's a little history of it's little alien life.

It all started during the pandemic. We were all going through really difficult times. I focused on crochet to keep myself sane.

First appearance! January 24, 2021:

Then, this little guy popped up again soon, February 17, 2021:

After that, they laid low for a while. I started writing the pattern, trying to make sense in the chaos, December 1, 2021:

Almost a whole year later, I asked someone to test it, and they backed out right away, saying they were too busy. That was fine with me. But, I did let that get to me and abandoned the alien, and made a mini evil eye granny square. It didn't really take off on Etsy. October 25, 2022:

And now, today! After the journey with this alien, my best crochet pattern writing advice is to start the pattern, finish it until you think it's perfect, and then forget it. If you come back and are able to follow the pattern, you're golden. June 10, 2023:
